Lula On Mary-Kate

Lula

Flicking through pages upon pages of of beautiful, softly lit photographs in this magazine. It's not an easy magazine to get hold of. I has everything from in-depth interviews with the
pioneers of the fashion and art world, to pencil sketches.

Glitter Cascade

Going to try and imitate the golden shadowing as seen above this weekend.

Read My Lips

Have had a love/hate relationship with lipstick for many years but I have decided to invest in a really good lipstick that -
1. Won't washout my ghostly pale skin.
2. Doesn't make my teeth look yellow.
3. Will stay put and not rub out leaving the ghastly "are you just wearing lip liner" look!

I went to MAC in Selfridges and immidiately fell for the palest shade in the Matte range.
The colours name is Kinda Sexy and available for £12.50 both online and instore.

Matte Lipstick has a darker colour because is does not have to shine to reflect light but I prefer Matte as is gives a more natural look.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Iv been going through a phase of insomnia after a stint working a night shift at a postal warehouse. This has caused me to sleep through the day and full on beans at night.

To distract from becoming my own psychoanalyst awake with nothing but my own thoughts I have turned my great love, Film.

I stared with An Education.
Carey Mulligan is brilliant as she plays a 16 going on 17 year on British school girl, Jenny, who has wisdom and knowledge of someone many years her senior. The articulate delivery of her lines make her an interesting character. The film itself is hard to watch in places as she become encapsulated in a relationship with an older man who shares her interest in art, classical music and Paris. Its easy to understand her attraction when you see her alternative of the nervous, stuttering boys her own age, but when the relationship becomes physical you have to question whether you are watching something beautiful or the manipulation of a child. A painful twist makes Jenny put her life back into perspective and return to the level-headed young woman she once was.
I have a secret love affair with Films set in the 1960's and 1970's and this hits all the right spots with the old school uniforms, Cuban heels, Cigarettes and Chanel perfume.

After seeing a Youtube trailor of Into The Wild with Emile Hirsch I couldn't resist.

Expect from Speed Racer I have seen every film Emile has done. He tends to be found in indie films rather than blockbusters but they are still cult favorites and theres no denying he is a serious actor rather than the polished pre-teens you often find playing heart-throbs.
I'll warn you now its a long one (I even had to take a break half way through) but don't let this put you off as it leaves you with that philosophical, 'whats the meaning of life' feeling at the end. The scenic shots of vast parts of truly wild america combined with the narration of a smart young college graduate makes an interesting watch. The character of Chris under his pseudonym of 'Alexander Supertramp' is played by lead, Emile Hirsch. The film is based on the true account of Chris McCandless. This is the last self portrait that on his camera that he never developed.
You flash back and forth to various stages of Chris's story, meeting all the people who both help and hindered his journey. A heart warming account of a young man making his mark on the lives of the people he meet. A MUST see (especially is your having a life direction crisis moment).

Preparation

Probably not the best time to venture a new project but this is the start of my blogging life. It is mid-summer holidays and I find myself doing very little in preparation for University in just under a Month.

I have successfully gathered a small amount of savings in the summer holidays to see me through until my student loan comes through. I am currently working behind the bar in the local nightclub at the weekends. This experience should help in finding bar work when I arrive In Manchester.
